EBRD approves €99.1 million loan to modernise mining services in Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved a €99.1 million loan to Mota-Engil Africa to modernise mining services operations at three mines in Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal. Announced on 14 October 2026, the financing is intended to improve productivity and operational capacity while reducing fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions through the purchase of newer equipment. The EBRD said the project also includes a parallel effort to expand skills development and support women's participation in mining.
